Student conferences and small group instruction are the heart of any instructional period. It is the time when individualized student needs are met, authentic feedback is given and learning becomes transparent. Additionally, conferring and small group instruction allow for formative assessment and the creation of instructional “next steps”. In this session, participants will learn steps in conferring that allow for the focused conversations and authentic feedback that solidifies learning. Management techniques and tools to help guide conferring and small group instruction will be explored.
